WooCommerce recently announced a new update, known as WooCommerce 3.7. The update, which is currently available for beta testing, is due to be officially released on 12th August 2019. If you’re interested in learning more about WooCommerce’s latest update, read on.
Currently, users can download and test the latest version by downloading it from WordPress.org or GitHub. Users can also choose to install a beta testing plugin, which provides a quick and easy way to test the beta version.
The latest release has been termed a minor release, meaning that it is entirely backward compatible. Regular WooCommerce users will notice that the version is a little smaller than some of its predecessors, and that’s down to the company’s decision to provide more regular releases, with fewer updates in each one.
WooCommerce 3.7 includes a range of different options, with some great new opportunities for customisation. As part of the update, WooCommerce has introduced Product Blocks 2.3. Made for the Gutenburg editor, the new Product Blocks come complete with faster search functions, new category list blocks, better branding, featured category blocks and a new focal point picker.
As well as updates to product blocks, WooCommerce 3.7 provides enhanced performance capabilities, with a faster admin dashboard, a reduction in query numbers, improvements to the speed of comment data pages and a fix for some reported issues. The beta version is now available for testing.
